Govt school teacher Ranjitsinh Disale wins Global Teacher Prize, makes history by sharing half with other finalists

Ranjitsinh Disale, a government school teacher from Paritewadi, Maharashtra, had made history by not just winning the 1 million USD Global Teacher Prize but by deciding to share half of his prize money with the other nine finalists to support their “incredible work”.Ranjitsinh Disale, a Maharashtra government school teacher, won the Global Teacher Prize 2020 and decided to share it.

He is best known for embedding QR codes in textbooks which was adopted by NCERT.

He has also worked towards eradicating teenage marraiges in his village and promoting girls’ education.
